SECURITY CAPABILITIES • One account per individual • Routine forced password changing • New password every 3 months • Automated log-in recording/monitoring • Automatic log-out triggered after 10 minutes of inactivity • Access capabilities can be limited on individual basis • Access capabilities can be limited on a group basis (by activity)

ACCESSREQUIREMENTS • Individuals must first apply for access online • Required information • Command agency (SYSCOM) • Name and activity • E-mail, phone number, and work address • Additional information • Lab code and DSN phone number • Additional comments and information • Application is routed to the appropriate SYSCOM Website Manager for review

NAVSEA APPROVALCRITERIA • Access privileges determined upon verification of involvement in the Navy METCAL Program • Hard copy recommended by the lab, activity, or program sponsor as an approved user • Proof of Contract with the Navy • Use of “navy.mil” e-mail address • Application information verified against: • METRL/NCA • Navy/Marine Corps White Pages (http://sdiego.dir.navy.mil) • SYSCOM Managers’ records for applicant’s lab or activity

  18. APPROVAL/DENIALE-MAIL MESSAGE • Sent via automated e-mail • Approval messages contain • User ID and Password • Conditions of Access Statement • Outlines the users responsibilities • Point of Contact information • Denial messages contain • Reason for denial • Point of contact information
