Enhancing Educational Outreach and Research Collaboration at Shaver Lake

This initiative focuses on strengthening educational outreach and research efforts around Shaver Lake, Fresno, and Merced. In 2013, we engaged over 600 grade school students, 55 undergraduates, and launched five new collaborations, receiving coverage in eight news outlets, including NBC Learn. Our future plans include expanding communication with researchers, launching a new website, creating online educational materials, and cataloging current initiatives. We also aim to utilize platforms like blogs, Science Café Merced, Twitter, and Facebook to broaden our reach and community involvement.
