  6. COPPA • Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 • Web sites cannot collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent • Includes first & last name, address, email address, phone number, Social Security number, and any other identifying information

  7. COPPA • Many sites do not allow children under 13 to use their services at all • Be sure to check the Terms of Service before allowing your child to use the site
