  1. How to Search the WAGGIN Network Catalog

  2. Select your library from the drop down menu

  3. Once you have selected your library, perform a keyword search by typing into the search bar; you can search by author, title, subject, or keyword. Here we search for Patterson, James. Then click “Anywhere”

  4. Our search brought back 992 results and the first couple of titles are not available at my library. You can tell they are not available by looking at the “Local Availability” field and by clicking on “Availability”

  5. When you click on “Availability,” you see that this title is not available at your library, but you can click on the link to see where it is located at

  6. This title is available at Eva K. Bowlby Library and Frank Sarris Library, but both copies are checked out. If you wish, you can place a hold on this title.

  7. To only find titles that are at your library, you will need to click on the “More Search Options” link that is found beneath the keyword search form.

  8. From “More Search Options,” select your library from the list of 17 libraries. Then click “Set Search Options.” This will only bring back search results for items that your library owns.

  9. As you can tell, we went from 992 items to 107 items. This means that there are 107 items that are related to my keyword search for “Patterson, James.” Notice how the “Local Availability” now shows 1 (of 1) for the first item and a “System Availability” of 9 (of 14). Now click on “Availability” to find where the item is located in your library.

  10. We can see that this title is Available for check out and that it is located in the YA Fiction section of the library. We can also click on the link that says “Click here to see items from all branches…” to find where else this title is located within the WAGGIN Network.

  11. If you have any further questions on how to search the catalog, please ask your librarian.
