Obeying The Law • The principles and regulations established in a community by some authority and applicable to its people, whether in the form of legislation or of custom and policies recognized and enforced by judicial decision. • If you don’t there is a great chance that someone will get hurt • Robbery, murder and reckless driving are examples • Everyone has to obey the law and keep our citizens safe

BEING INFORMED ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES BY: Natalie Warren Being informed about the current issues is important because…… • If you didn’t know what was going on then you wouldn’t be able to present viable information. • You could be informed just by reading the daily paper, watching the morning, or evening news. • You can even get informed just by getting onto the internet. • Every news website has current information that is an in-depth report on what is happening. • You can also stay informed by reading political books, and subscribing to political magazines. http://www.wikihow.com/Stay-Informed-About-Current-Eventsppening.

RESPECTING DIFFERING OPINIONS…. • Everyone has a different opinion on how they view the government and how they feel the government should act, however….. • Since everyone has a different view or opinion of the government then everyone should be open-minded to their beliefs. • Just like religion, the way people view the government is a personal thing, and it should be respected.   6. Paying Taxes • Paying taxes are important because they pay extra money for schools, roads, the services of firefighters, and polices. If you do not pay taxes you will owe the IRS the money back. • It also pays for Social Security ,Welfare ,Disability, Unemployment Insurance.

Serving on a Jury A jury is a sworn body of people convened to render an impartial verdict officially submitted to them by a court or to set a penalty or judgment Modern juries tend to be found in courts to ascertain the guilt, or lack thereof, in a crime. Performing Public Services Public services can be defined as multiple activities that help you community, and or nation. -serving in your nation’s military -helping at shelters/homes for the needy -donations of clothing and or money to a charity of your choice -performing a service that will better your community in some way

  9. Military Duties • Military duty responsibilities are a important role for any citizen enlisted in any part of the military. Military citizens must have to be called on late hours with no pay , called in at anytime, sent overseas. You must be responsible of your rank (pvt, cpl, SSgt, general, ex.) to be in the military is a big role because you protect the country and its citizens from natural disasters, enemies, ex.
