  4. Facts about Road Safety: Globally 1.17 m road deaths annually, 70% in Dev Countries; 65% Pedestrians and 35% Children. Over 10m people crippled each yr. Asia Pacific accounts for almost half of global road accident deaths. In Pakistan about 5000 people are killed in road accidents annually, 20% of all such deaths are under 15years of age. By 2020 Road Accidents will be 3rd leading cause of death worldwide, in 1990 it was 9th . Road accidents cost DMCs 1-3% of GDP annually. Road Safety
