  1. The Comeniusproject

  2. Preparations2008 • We connected with the students from the other countries by using e-twinning, a community on the internet. • We made power-point presentations of ourselves and posted them on the e-twinning site. • We made questionnaires about their lifestyle and habits and sent them to the other countries.

  3. Planning2009 • We started to think about activities that we could do with the students from Greece and CzechRepublic. • We came up with a schedule of activities that would be useful and in line with the project.

  4. Journeys • We were divided into two groups, one went to Spain and the other went to Italy. • We lived with the students and their families. • We learned about their culture and made friends for life.

  5. Writing an article • The questionnaires did not give us the information we needed so we had to find another option. We made an article about each country’s: • Alcohol consumption • Drug related problems • Food habits • Sleep and stress disorders • School system

  6. Summery of the articles • It was difficult to find the same statistics from all countries so we have not been able to compare the way we planned.

  7. Summary of the articles- Alcohol • Sweden and Czech Republic have pretty much the same alcohol culture. We drink more on fewer occasion while Italy, Spain and Greece drink more often but they drink less on each occasion. • It is only in Sweden you have to be 20 years old to buy alcohol and Sweden is also the country (of these five) were alcohol is most expensive.

  8. Summary of the articles- Drugs and tobacco • Sweden - 17% of the boys and 15% of the girls have tried drugs. • Italy – The EU-country that is second in using drugs. 24 % is using and 43% have tried. • Czech Republic - 80% have access to drugs and 45% of the 15-16 years old have tried. • Greece – 38% use tobacco, that is the highest usage/capita in the world.

  9. Summary of the articles- Food habits • 10% of Swedish women gets an eating disorder sometime in there life. • 21 % are overweight in Greece which makes it the 5:th largest country in the world on weight problems. • 14,8% of 18 year olds who have overweight also have diseases due to this.

  10. Summary of the articles- Sleep and stress • In Sweden 21% are stressed in opposite to Greece where only 6% are stressed. • Students in all countries are pressured about homework and examinations, school is one of the main stress factor.

  11. Summary of the articles- School system • In both Sweden and Czech republic, school is mandatory from 1-9 class. • In Italy they go haveschool on Saturdays. • In Greece there are only 17 universities which makes it though to get in.

  12. Summary • The Project has made us more aware about the differences between ourselves and other cultures. • The project has given us inspiration about eating healthier and made us more aware about the environment. • It has been an experience for life and it will be something that we will remember the rest of our lives.
