  1. Embrace the TRUTHS that will make and keep any Family Strong

  2. A Proper Foundation “God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them reflecting our nature So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle, And, yes, Earth itself, and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.” God created human beings; he created them godlike, Reflecting God’s nature. He created them male and female. God blessed them: “Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!” Genesis 1:26-28a MSG Family Strong

  3. A Proper Foundation “Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], And by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled with all precious and pleasant riches." Proverbs 24:3-4 AMP Family Strong

  4. A Proper Foundation He who troubles his own house will inherit the wind, And the fool will be servant to the wise of heart. (Proverbs 11:29 NKJV) Proverbs 11:29 He who brings trouble on his family will inherit only wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise. NIV 29 The fool who provokes his family to anger and resentment will finally have nothing worthwhile left. He shall be the servant of a wiser man. TLB Family Strong

  5. A Proper Foundation Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:31-32 NKJV) "They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” (John 17:16-17 NKJV) Family Strong

  6. A Proper Foundation There are countless of ways, principles, ideologies, philosophies, religious theories cultural beliefs, and personal opinions on how to conduct family relationships. This series is not about any of those. We are hunting solely for TRUTH! When we are open to TRUTH and receive TRUTH, TRUTH will always fulfill its purpose in our lives – to give us maximum liberty. Family Strong

  7. A Proper Foundation We are not after what we can make work, but rather this is a pursuit to better understand God’s design and expectation for our families and TRANSFORM into it. Thereby making our FAMILY STRONG! Family Strong

  8. A Proper Foundation “So, my dear brothers and sisters, this is the point: You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God.” Romans 7:4 NLT Family Strong

  9. A Proper Foundation Core strength for every family is found in each member of the family’s connection with God. The stronger each member of the family’s connection and relationship with God through Jesus and His Word the greater the probability of success is for the entire family. To work on any family relationship without first bringing the presence of God to bear on it is an exercise in futility that at best will produce marginal results that are by no means lasting or permanent. You can’t do this by praying God’s influence into your family. You bring God’s presence to bear upon your family by letting Him in through your submission and transformation to Him in your own personal life. Family Strong

  10. A Proper Foundation • Family Commitments • Choose REPENTANCE. Decide now to change abandon any thinking regarding your family that is not consistent with God’s TRUTH. Many times our traditions have gotten in the way of God’s promises. Mark 7:1-13 • Choose RENEWAL. Josh. 24:14, 15 • Choose RELIANCE. Almighty God is supporting you, encouraging you & empowering you to do what in time past has seemed impossible for you. Philippians 2:13 Family Strong

  11. A Proper Foundation “[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.” Philippians 2:13 AMP Family Strong

  12. A Proper Foundation 1Ti 5:8 (BBE) If anyone has no care for his family and those in his house, he is false to the faith, and is worse than one who has no faith. Ga 6:10 (BBE) So then, as we have the chance, let us do good to all men, and specially to those who are of the family of the faith. Family Strong

  13. A Proper Foundation • Celebrate the members of your family by… • Showing appreciation with regular verbal praise & encouragement • Reinforcing their value by actively listening to & prayerfully considering their thoughts. No one talks long in a place where their voice is not valued. • Partnering with them in the fulfillment of their dreams • Lovingly bringing correction when it is needed • Blessing them often “just because” • Sacrificing your desires to create opportunities for their growth • Protecting them against doubters, naysayers & critics Family Strong

  14. A Proper Foundation Strength for your Family Assignment (Week #1): Have a short devotion with your family every day this week. Choose a Psalm each day to read together, to discuss, and to pray for each other concerning. Take a short survey today and ask your family for their feedback. The survey is attached to this presentation. Eat dinner together at least three (3) times this week. Discuss life at the table. Allow everyone in the family to openly communicate without the fear of repercussions. Conduct a fun activity this week that everyone in the family enjoys.
