BALOCHISTAN EARTHQUAKE UPDATE AS ON 19 NOV 2008 Damages/ Losses Provision of Relief Items • Dead/ Injured • Dead - 163 • Injured - 175 • Damage Assessment • 7000 – 10,000 People Displaced • 218 - Village Affected Houses Damaged • Completely Damaged 710, Major Damage 4524, Partially Damaged 2309, Minor Damage 2354 Employment of Mil/ CAF Resources & Civil Admin • Manpower • 2165 x all ranks committed. 500 persons ex police employed • 28 x Medical Teams engaged (18x from Govt of Balochistan), 5 x Static Clinic and 2 x Tertiary Hospital • 1 x Advance Dressing Station ex Army &3x Medical Team ex Army & CAF • 31 x Team ex Army carried out damage assessment survey • Material • 15 x Helicopters available/ engaged • 26 x C-130 arrived carrying relief goods • Medicines and medical stores delivered to affected areas • 19 x Ambulances with emergency kit • 9 x Dozer, 5xTransporter, 3x Excavators, 3 FE Loaders Donations • * 1000x winterized tents committed by Rotary Club, 1000 by Salvation Army,1324 by PRCS/ICRC and 4976 by IFRC • £ IFRC 4000, 2000 shelters by PRCS/ICRC, 1000 by UN HABITAT,Misc 1000 ( Bali Trust /Muslim Aid/Turkish RC, IOM, JICA and Muslim Hand etc) • 6,000x one room shelters by different organizations. Construction starting within one week • WFP started supply of 2 months rations for 20,000 people with effect from 3 Nov 2008
