  2. What is CSLA? • CSLA or the Canadian Student Leadership Association is a registered non-profit educational association in Canada. • CSLA was originally founded in 1983 as the Canadian Association of Student Activity Advisors or CASAA, in order to support the continuation of our main event, the Canadian Student Leadership Conference (CSLC) • In 2012 CASAA evolved to become CSLA, with a stronger focus on student leadership and now distributes leadership resources, materials, awards scholarships, and organizes programs and events for its member schools across the country; as well as still overseeing the continuation of CSLC.

  3. CSLA continued….. Vision: Our vision is to build a strong community of secondary school students across the country who, inspired by their student leadership experiences, are actively engaged in their schools and communities and contributing to the betterment of society. Mission Statement: To help educate and encourage Student Leadership by providing secondary school students and educators from across the country with top-quality and relevant student leadership training, resources, programs, and events, including an annual national leadership conference.

  4. CSLA continued….. Goals:  Enable students to participate in national student leadership events and programs, including an annual national leadership conference. Train secondary school educators to help guide student leaders in a variety of meaningful activities. Create and distribute timely and superior resources for students and educators to foster the development of student leadership. Support and promote other student leadership organizations, events, or programs

  5. CSLA continued….. So…. …..what does CSLA have for you, your school and your students!?!?!

  6. C.S.L.C…… C. S. L. C. = Canadian Student Leadership Conference Imagine 200 - 250 leadership advisors and 600 – 800 leadership students gathering in an action-packed five days to learn leadership skills and activities, to make new connections from across the country, exchange ideas and have fun! It happens every year at CSLC! The most spirited and motivated students from every nook and cranny, both big and small, from all over Canada, get together to hear motivational speakers, to take part in workshops, cultural activities, and entertainment events. Throw in like minded, inspirational and motivated teachers and you have a very powerful event at the beginning of the school year that feeds all participants with a fuel of vibrant energy to bring back to their schools and communities.

  21. What You Need to Do • Review the information package • Once you have reviewed everything including the cost, please contact Ms. Quann through email: colettequann@nlesd.ca to indicate whether you are interested in being registered for the trip. • I will register and waitlist students as Student 1- Student 12. Therefore, we ask for you to respond by Friday, March 1st. I do not want to turn students away only to have others on the list back out after. • Submit completed registration forms and payment of $470 for registration by March 1st as well. (You will be refunded in the event we do not get requested spots)

  22. C.S.L.C. 2019…… Thank you!
