Community Response • Concerned members of the community called a public meeting ( June 2011) • Request at Share an Idea an Outline Development for Peterborough Village • Key Vision and values identified. Sustainability Social wellbeing Eco Streets Avon River park Social Housing Vibrant Commercial hub Acknowledgement of the Heritage Land Development Corporation concept

  6. Submission to the City Plan Some of the key points from our submission that form the basis of an Outline development plan for Peterborough Village precinct. • Heritage • Geotechnical • Eco Streets/Public space

  7. Heritage • Peterborough Village requests support for recognition and interpretation of heritage sites and activities in Peterborough Village Pita Kaik

  8. Geotechnical • Peterborough Village supports recognition of the levee damage along the Avon • Requests building set backs from levee damage along the Avon as well as along levees to former watercourses • Requests recognition of natural spring locations • Supports the creation of the Avon River Park/PapawaiOtakaro

Eco Streets • Support Peterborough Village streets being Eco Streets, including for improvement to Avon River water quality as well as amenity. • Requests consultation with the community regarding specific eco street design and development. • Request Peterborough Street be of a ‘greenway style’, without through traffic. • Support the promotion of “healthy, sustainable and active living in the Central City through the natural environment and green technology.
