  7. Claims Submission • Quarterly submissions are preferred • Provide sufficient documentation • Organize by budget category • Include a summary sheet when submitting multiple supporting documents All claims must be submitted through IowaGrants.gov.

  8. Claims Submission, Cont. If a reimbursement request for a given line item exceeds the approved budget by more than 10%, request a budget amendment Mail a signed copy of the submitted claim to the DE

  9. Sequestration When the grant award notifications were sent, we included a paragraph advising grantees to plan for the potential of a 8.9-15% reduction in available funds as a result of sequestration. Per discussion with Jeff Berger on 10/7/12, the grants that were awarded in July will not be impacted; however, things are still unclear for the next fiscal period. We should have a better idea of direction following the election.

  10. Perkins Reauthorization USDE Blueprint was released in April 2012 State Perkins Accountability Congress (SPAC), comprised of representatives from each state, was formed to discuss the proposed performance indicators SPAC Forum is available for you to add comments/questions
