  2. IRONS is the name given to a Flat-Head ax paired with a Haligan tool We currently do not have a set of “IRONS” but have tools with similar characteristic that can be used. Although we are going to show the irons remember other tools that we do have will perform the same functions. A little creativity…..

  7. (From IFSTA Essentials)

  8. Non-Traditional Doors

  9. With sliding glass doors you can remove the trim allowing you to pull the door back and remove it. You may still need to pry the latch. With roll up doors you can insert the pike to break pad locks or you can cut an upside down v using an axe and another tool to strike it.

  10. Other Uses

  11. A pike whether on the an axe or on a halligan or other tool can be used for several other applications. Through the lock type forcible entry uses the pike to knock the locking mechanism out allowing you to manually operate the bolt. This type of entry can also work on the trunk area of a car. You can also drive the pike or adz into the roof to give you a footing point. This is also true of a fireman’s axe.

  12. Remember forcible entry and exit is for all types of emergencies…. Not just fires.
