Join us for the Final Presentations on Cardiovascular Diseases on December 10th from 4:00-6:30 PM at the University Fitness Center Conference Room. This event invites parents, teachers, physicians, and medical students to engage with presentations prepared by groups of 3-5 students.   3. Guidelines • Groups • 3-5 students • Choose your own • Time limit: • 3 students=6 minutes • 4 students=8 minutes • 5 students=10 minutes • Business Casual attire

  4. Guidelines cont. • Format • Powerpoint • Should cover: etiology, disease pathophysiology, clinical presentation (signs and symptoms), treatments (lifestyle changes, medications, procedures) • Topics • Any cardiovascular disease

  5. Topic Examples • Mitral stenosis (or other valvular abnormalities) • Infective endocarditis • Hypertension • Coarctation of the aorta • Pericarditis • Left or Right Ventricular Hypertrophy • Arrhythmias • Congenital Abnormalities • Congestive Heart Failure

Suggested “Due Dates” • Choose groups by the end of today’s session (sign-up sheet) • Choose a topic by November 19th (next Wednesday’s class) • NO CLASS November 26th! • Do independent outside research (contact mentors) • Bring research/presentations on December 3rd to class to finalize/practice
