  1. Global Advertising By Sam & Gregory

  2. What is global advertising? • Global advertising is when a brand or product is advertised in different countries around the world so that the brands becomes globally recognised. • For Example; Mc Donald’s

  3. There are four main objectives that must be balanced when developing worldwide advertising; • 1. building a brand while speaking with one voice. • 2. developing economies of scale in the creative process. • 3. maximising local effectiveness of ads. • 4. increasing the company’s speed of implementation.

  4. Advantages of global advertising. • Economies of scale in production and distribution. • Lower marketing costs. • Power and scope. • Consistency in brand image. • Ability to leverage good ideas quickly and efficiently. • Uniformity of marketing practices.

  5. Disadvantages of global advertising. • Differences in consumer needs, wants, and usage patterns for products, • Differences in brand and product development in acompetitive environment. • Differences in the legal environment, some of which may conflict with those of the home market, • Differences in product placement.

  6. This product is would not be successful globally as JLS have only recently started up their career. However they would be extremely effective in UK as they have recently appeared on mainstream television program X-Factor so have huge fan base who would buy their product straight away. Also JLS target the younger population of 16-25 year olds so this product would not be successful in the location of a religious town/village as it would be frowned upon to encourage sex before marriage. Celebrity Endorsment

  7. Celebrity Endorsement Beyonce was chosen by L'Oreal to appear in their global advertisement as the product is a women’s foundation. Most of the female population aspire to look like Beyonce so believe that this foundation will help there skin look as radiant as hers. As well as using Beyonce as the face of their advertisement they included a quote from her, “this makeup is so true to my own skin, it actually minimises it.” Statistics show their the population are more reliant on advertisement from word of mouth rather than television or magazine ads.

  8. Celebrity Endorsments • Coleen Rooney was chosen to advertise littlewoods clothing because of her appeal to a British audience. Littlewoods is a British company and chose to use a celebrity with domestic appeal to endorse their product. It is unlikely that Coleen Rooney would continue to be the front woman for Littlewoods if they developed any aspirations of becoming a global brand.

  9. Product Placement • In the movie ‘Castaway’, the story revolves around a Fed Ex employee who is stranded on an island and determined to return to his normal life and, more importantly, deliver a package that has washed up on the island with him. This is a very strong endorsment for Fed Ex employees.
