  4. #1 Pray a lot Prov 15.29 The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

  5. #2 Dare to be different • Prov 3.26 …for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared. • Prov 14.26 NLT Those who fear the LORD are secure

  7. Sometimes, to be like Jesus means to go against the flow.

  8. #3 Set healthy boundaries • Prov 25.28 NLT A person without self-control is as defenseless as a city with broken-down walls.

  11. # 4 Choose your friends • Prov 12.26 A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. • Prov 1.15 …my son, do not go along with them [sinners], do not set foot on their paths.

  12. Choosing your friends doesn’t mean that you will be a loner!

  14. #5 Listen to your parents • Prov 15.20 NRSV A wise child makes a glad father, but the foolish despise their mothers. • Prov 15.5 NLT Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline; whoever learns from correction is wise.
