An ecosystem is an environment that has living organisms interacting with each other as well as their physical environment. • A community is an ecological grouping of different kinds of organisms that live together in a particular place at a particular time and interact with one another. • A habitat is an environment where an organism lives. • The Niche of a species is that part of the environment in which the species survives, reproduces and is likely to continue to exist. Biotic factors: - Fish, Frogs, Plants, algae, bacteria, protozoa, rotifers • Abiotic factors: - Temperature, low salt concentration, water, sunlight, current, air (oxygen), sand, pollution, carbon dioxide • Community within Ponds are; Fish, Frogs, Plants, algae, bacteria, protozoa, rotifers, duckweed, watermites, snail eggs, tadpoles, water lilly, moorhen, backswimmer, dragonfly nimph, catfish, cumbungi, common reed, hydra, fly larva, water plantain, Euglena, daphnia, flatworms, • Frog: Structural:- webbed feet to swim Behavioural:- flicks out tongue when spots tasty meal Physiological:- reduction of evaporating water loss through the skin Pond ecosystem
