Biome Harlem Shake-Off: A Cultural Celebration of Diversity

Join us for the Biome Harlem Shake-Off on March 12, 2013, at Luella High School, room #333. Each class period will research their assigned biome, creating an engaging and educational performance. Students will design representative backdrops, masks, and attire, along with unique choreography. This fun event aims to incorporate cultural diversity with the Harlem Shake phenomenon. The winning class will earn extra credit on their Biome Project! All students must adhere to safety and school dress code policies. Let's celebrate creativity and science together!

  2. “Biome” Harlem Shake-Off • Objective: To incorporate cultural diversity with the content (Many students seem to show extreme interest in the “new” version of the Harlem Shake). Each class period will be responsible for conducting research on the biome that was randomly assigned to accurately represent their biome. • What students will be responsible for: • Creating a backdrop that is representative of the biome • Creating masks that are representative of the biome • Choreography • Attire that is representative of the biome (must adhere to school dress code) • Must also adhere to safety precautions

  4. Judges Scoring Rubric • Scores: 1 = not relevant to the biome 2 = somewhat relevant to the biome 3 = relevant to the biome • The judges scoring will based on the following criteria: • Backdrop • Attire • choreography • The winning class will receive extra credit on their Biome Project
