  1. Safety in the Communications Technology Classroom We are all responsible!

  2. There are many safety concerns • Rules • Equipment • Preventable Hazards • Social

  3. RULES

  4. Always be respectful • If you do what is asked of you and treat yourself, others and classroom equipment with respect. • Keep your hands to yourself, there is a lot of heavy and expensive equipment around, abrupt movements can cause a great deal of damage.

  5. Equipment

  6. It has feelings too! • Put it back where you found it. • Always sign it out. • Always use it safely – if you think something is dangerous, it probably is, so figure out another way to get the same or similar results.

  7. Preventable Hazards • Safety should always come first. • Do not rush, if something looks dangerous take the time to make it safe. • Remove any and all trip hazards. • Do not do anything that could harm you or others.

  8. Cleanup wires

  9. Make Wires or other items do not become trip hazards • Tape wires along corners of the wall. • Do not block walkways with cords. • Remove all items from the floor. • Ask teacher for assistance if you need it.

  10. Safety comes first when filming! • Do not do any car stunts, dangerous physical stunts or stunts that cause destruction. • You are often on your own when filming, so be very mindful of your choices. • Remember – your mark is based on the technical aspects of the film – not the stunts. SHOW OFF THE SKILLS YOU’VE LEARNED IN CLASS!!

  11. BE RESPONSIBLE • The world has become a smaller place – anything you post online can come back to haunt you or others. • Never post anything online unless you have the permission of all those who have participated. • Do not use what you have learned in this course to harm others.
