    2. Davinci Decoded "...be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect..." 1 Peter 3:15

Mix between imagination and realty Clear attack on all religions, specifically Christianity ( after you remove the adventures) Over 100 million will be either watching the movie or have read the book Some believe that Brown has major link with Zionism and the movie is greatly supported as a response against The Passions of Christ 92005)

    4. Common words Holy Grail Son Grail Sangreal Sang Real

    5. Mary Magdalene/Holy grail We start with the key woman in our study, Mary of Magdala. In The Da Vinci Code, she is the wife of Jesus and the mother of his children, a secret the church wanted to cover up to protect the divinity of Jesus. In the book, she also is directly associated with the Holy Grail. The association with the Grail comes through the idea of Holy Blood, and its bloodline (p. 250) the sangreal. A word play on the term Sang Real gets us to a connection to the Holy Grail. In fact, the direct connection of Mary to the Holy Grail is a twentieth century innovation to the legend of the Holy Grail. In addition, the word play it is based upon stories from the medieval period and is not a part of the original meaning of the term.

    6. The hypothesis is that the story of the Holy Grail really points to the holy bloodline of Jesus and Mary Magdalene coming into France. This idea is expressed explicitly in Holy Blood, Holy Grail as a hypothesis (pp. 313-15).

    9. In The Da Vinci Code, Mary also is said to be in Leonardo da Vincis painting the Last Supper. The evidence is the V shape to the side of Jesus in the painting (p. 244). It is the symbol of the feminine and a feminine looking figure on the one side of the V is Mary of Magdala (p. 238). Leonardo knew of the genealogical secret and put a clue of it in this painting. It is from this detail that the novel gets its title, The Da Vinci Code. All of these ideas surface in the middle portion of the book (pp. 242-45). This makes Mary a a core person in the book. Who was she? What was her relationship to Jesus?

    11. 3 Key Texts 1) Hippolytus, Song of Songs: On the female Apostles Lest the female apostles doubt the angels, Christ himself came to them so that the women would be apostles of Christ and by their obedience rectify the sin of ancient Eve . . . Christ showed himself to the (male) apostles and said to them: It is I who appeared to these women and I who wanted to send them to you as apostles.

    12. 3 Key Texts 2) Gospel of Philip 63:33-36- An Undefined Special Relationship to Jesus- (2 versions of this text: The original, the suggested) And the companion of the [] Mary Magdalene. [ loved] her more than [all] the disciples [and used to] kiss her [often] on her []. And the companion of [the Savior] is Mary Magdalene. But Christ loved her more than [all] the disciples [and used to] kiss her [often] on her [mouth. The rest [of the disciples were offended] by it [and expressed disapproval]. (Alternate for the last sentence: and he used to kiss her on her [ more] often that the rest of the disciples [])

    13. 3 Key Texts 3) Gospel of Mary 17:10-18:21: Recipient of Revelation But Andrew answered and said to the brethren, Say what you (wish to) say about what she has said. I at least do not believe that the Savior said this. For certainly these teachings are strange ideas. Peter answered and spoke concerning these same things. He questioned them about the Savior: Did He really speak with a woman without our knowledge and not openly? Are we to turn about and all listen to her? Did He prefer her to us?

    14. Gospel of Mary (cont) Then Mary wept and said to Peter, My brother Peter, what do you think? Do you think that I have thought this up myself in my heart, or that I am lying about the Savior? Levi answered and said to Peter, Peter, you have always been hot tempered. Now I see you contending against the woman like the adversaries. But if the Savior made her worthy, who are you indeed to reject her? Surely the Savior knows her very well. That is why He loved her more than us. Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect Man, and separate as He commanded us and preach the gospel, not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Savior said.

    15. Summary on 3 Texts No text explicitly says Jesus is married Meaning of the texts that might infer it are very unclear. 2 texts out of hundreds of texts.

    16. Bishop Bishoy Answers If Leonardo Da Vinci intended to portray the inclusion of Mary Magdalene in his painting (The Last Supper) he would have painted 13 individuals plus Christ, but he rather painted 12 individuals plus Christ, and there is no room to assume that Judas was not present at the table; he is painted as a shadowy person holding the money bag. Christ said, This is My Body and This is My Blood and then invited them to eat and drink and they did. Such eating and drinking act defies the theory of Brown that the Holy Grail was Mary Magdalenes womb? How would a group of men partake and eat and drink from a womb? The Gospel of John Chapter (6), is a clear expose that Christ did not refer to a fetus in Mary Magdalenes womb to be His Body nor His Blood
