  1. How many species are there? • Answer- 1,448,800 have been described.

  2. How is the immortal jellyfish immortal? • Answer- this jelly is able to revert back to a juvenile form once it mates. It does this by transdifferentiation (reverse metamorphosis).

  3. Why do some people have stronger genes? Example, the son looks exactly like the dad & nothing like the mother. • Answer- genes control traits (characteristics). Some genes are dominant over others. • Some traits are controlled by many genes.

  4. Why do we have limited eye color? • Answer- the trait of eye color is controlled by many genes and includes in its range brown to blue.

  5. Do carnivorous plants still use the sun for photosynthesis or do they only use the animals/insects that they eat? • Answer- Yes they still use the sun, however in order for normal growth and reproduction they require Nitrogen.

  13. How do you get taller? • Answer- height and length are achieved through rapid mitotic growth in your long bones.
