Continuation Report Q & A SPDG Program March 30, 2011
G5 Overview • Registering with G5 is a three step process: • 1) Requesting an Account, • 2) Activating Your Account, and • 3) Identifying Yourself as a Project Director. • You will need to complete all three steps in order to access your award.
G5 – Important Points from the Tip Sheets • Activate your account and then log in to request Project Director access • Logging in • Must log in as the Project Director and must use the same exact name • Can then grant others access • Continually save your work • You will be timed out after 20 minutes even if you’re still typing • Hotline: 1-888-336-8930
Giving Other Users Access • In order to grant another person in your organization access to your performance report, that person must have already registered in G5. • You will need to know the email and last name with which they registered.
Adding Users • Only one person can have manager access and only one person can have submit access. • Users must be registered in G5 before you can add them to the package.
“ED strongly encourages electronic submission. However, if you must mail your report, include a CD copy and submit to one of the following: • Regular Postal Service • U.S. Department of Education • Office of Special Education Programs • Kimberly Savoy-Brown, PCP – Room 5077 • LBJ Basement Level 1 • 400 Maryland Avenue, S.W. • Washington, D.C. 20202 • Commercial Carrier/Hand Delivery • U.S. Department of Education • Office of Special Education Programs • Kimberly Savoy-Brown • 550 12th Street, S.W. • Room 5077, Potomac Center Plaza • Washington, D.C. 20202
Recommendations • Start trying to use G5 now • Project Officers cannot see what you see in G5, so the tip sheets and the hotline are your best bets for extra help • If all else fails you can send your report by mail • Don’t panic – we will get through this…
Performance Measures • We are using the same program measures that we used the last few years • Your project performance measures can be changed, but you need to receive approval from your Project Officer first • If you are asking for a no-cost extension you will need to send your Project Officer a continuation report • If you received forward funding you cannot enter your continuation report into G5
