  2. Technical Design • A technical designer is a person who takes a designer’s idea and makes it a reality. • They take the design and make adjustments to it to create a more realistic and practical garment.

Going to School for Technical Design • To become a technical designer, you must have taken courses in fashion design. • Occasionally, schools will offer courses specifically on technical design, which is really helpful for getting this type of career. • An example of a school that offers a technical design course is the Fashion Institute of Technology.

  4. Skills of a Technical Designer • A technical designer must make changes to the garment to make it realistic. • They also must be able to communicate with manufacturers so the product can get produced. • In addition, they have to make sure sizing of the garment is fitting correctly.
