  4. 4.0 Report conversion tool • Desktop Intelligence documents are not available in 4.0 CMS. • The only way for a user to work with Desktop Intelligence content in 4.0 is to follow one of the following procedures: • 1 a) Use the XI 3.x Report conversion tool to convert Desktop Intelligence reports to Web Intelligence reports on the same stack CMS XI 3.x 1 CMS XI 3.x Deski report Webi report • 2. Use the 4.0 Report conversion tool to convert Desktop Intelligence reports to Interactive Analysis reports and publish them to an 4.0 system • 1 b) Use the 4.0 Upgrade management tool to promote the content 2 CMS 4.0 Interactive Analysis report

  6. Report Conversion Process The process remains essentially the same as in prior versions ofthe Report conversion tool

  7. Comparison & Auditing Essentially remains the same as in the prior versions of RCT. Standard RCT Audit reports are available as before, using 4.0 connection. RCT allows you to save the conversion results to the audit database.

  8. Publishing in 4.0 • Converted documents must be published to the 4.0 CMS. • Document publishing is considered partial if a universe is not associated the document in the 4.0 CMS. • Open and view is still possible • Refresh is not possible (therefore publishing is partial) • A variety of options are available while publishing to the CMS, such as changing the target name of the document, changing the target folder, changing the target category, and so on.

Desktop Intelligence Catch-up Features • Query on Query • Forward fit from XI 3.1 Sp2, delivered in 4.0 • Fold/Unfold • Forward fit from XI 3.1 Sp2, delivered in 4.0 • Show/Hide • Delivered in 4.0 • Fit to page • Delivered in 4.0 • PS: Catch-up features are not being covered here in detail, currently work is in-progress on these features.

  10. Key Points • What is new in the 4.0 Report conversion tool: • Desktop Intelligence documents will no longer be available in 4.0 CMS. These documents must be converted for use in Interactive Analysis (previously called Web Intelligence). • New login screen. • New comparison interface. • Desktop Intelligence catch-up features delivered by Interactive Analysis are supported by report conversion tool in the conversion process.
