What is Gr-r-reat Manager U? • Introduced in January 2008 • Kellogg’s training program for all new managers of people • Addresses most important skills for new managers • Delivered through a “modular” approach that meets the needs of manager’s busy schedules • Delivered using Kellogg’s Learning Management System (LMS) • Combination of: • Computer-based Training modules (CBTs) • Facilitator-led Workshops – delivered regionally • Support tools

  2. Gr-r-reat Manager status update • In the US, 270 managers are enrolled in Gr-r-reat Manager U • The Learning Management System (LMS) has seven areas: • US • Asia • Australia • Canada • Europe • Latin America • South Africa • Each area is developing their Gr-r-reat Manager U implementation

  11. Gr-r-reat Manager U Learning Teams What are the Gr-r-reat Manager U Learning Teams? Groups of learners who are enrolled in the Gr-r-reat Manager U curriculum and have completed the 2 day “Managing for Optimal Performance” workshop. Learning Teams will meet four to eight times over a period of approximately 8 months. These meetings will allow learners to share what they learn as well as their experience in transferring what they have learned into their jobs.

Gr-r-reat Manager U Learning Teams • Each meeting will be customized to address the following: • Touch bases kick off (discuss progress through GMU curriculum since last meeting) • Report on-the-job application milestones • Collaborative solution session (individual on the team brings a challenge - group works to address that challenge with a solution)

  13. Gr-r-reat Manager U Learning Teams Why have Gr-r-reat Manager U Learning Teams? PURPOSE: To emphasize and facilitate on-the-job transfer of skills and knowledge learned through the curriculum. Gr-r-reat Manager U offers other benefits by reducing the isolation that could result from exclusively web-based learning opportunities and also allowing learners to come into contact with individuals from across the organization thereby offering an opportunity to learn more about the business.
