  5. Embarrassed • While going to pick up my son from preschool, I saw a teacher who I used to work with so I said hi. As we were talking another teacher walked up and I addressed the first teacher as my white ex-coworker. She seemed kind of embarrassed. • vanityofvanities.wordpress.com

  6. Shocked • While out with my mom at the mall, I saw a classmate of mine and I introduced her to my mom as my Asian classmate. My mom was shocked and her mouth fell open. • blandcanyon.blogspot.com

  9. Frustrated • At my niece’s birthday party I was talking to my cousin. My other cousin came in and I introduced her as my white cousin. I really got frustrated doing this to my family. • scsv.nevada.edu

  10. Angry • My sister had friends over at my dad’s house. Some of her friends are Laotian and Vietnamese. When my dad came in I introduced Phoung as Brittany’s Vietnamesefriend. Brittany (my sister) got very angry. • mahoganie.vox.com

  11. Sad • While I was at a local school function, I saw an old high school teacher of mine. My husband joined us and I introduced my black teacher to my husband. That made my husband sad to hear me introduce her like that. • ed2010.com
