  2. The Plan Day 1… Paint Background/Sky MEDIUM = Tempera Paint (Use a long strip of cartridge paper e.g. 24” long, & at least as wide as the shoe box) Start Main Subject (animal) MEDIUM = Modeling Clay

  3. SKY Background - Tempera Paint Consider your colour choice so it helps show: • Climate (weather…) • Time of Day (dawn, daylight, night…)

  4. Colour Wheel Warm Colour Scheme (think of a bonfire) Cool Colour Scheme (think of water and ice) Analagous Colour Scheme (think of colour wheel neighbours)

  5. Clean-Up • Painting to safe place to dry • Brush in water to soak • Palette to bin/compost • Wash Hands • Sketching – your animal!

  6. Main Subject = Animal

  7. Medium…Plasticine

  8. Start with… Use Basic Shapes: • Body • Head

  9. I can… • roll(ball/sphere; cyliner/noodle) • press(pancake; can use scissors) • pinch • Poke/etch …modeling clay

  10. Use Basic Shapes • Body • Head • Legs • Identifying characteristics… (snout, ears, tail, fins, trunk, wings…?)

  11. Clean-Up • Sculpture in your shoe box for storage • All Plasticine returned • Wipe hands with paper towel • Wash Hands
