  2. TEN • Stroke: A blood clot leading to the brain which causes paralysis and death

  3. NINE • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A disease that causes restriction of the airway in the lungs leading to death.

  4. EIGHT • Pneumonia/Influenza: Infection in the lungs causing a build up of mucus that can cause a person to choke and can lead to death.

  5. SEVEN • Congenital Abnormalities: Also known as a birth defect which can lead to premature death such as progeria or cystic fibrosis

  6. SIX • HIV/AIDS: A virus that attacks the immune system which kills off white blood cells which make your body weak to fight off infections.

  7. FIVE • Heart Disease: Disease that causes the heart to become blocked and weakened which can lead to death. • 1 out of 5 teens at risk

  8. FOUR • Cancer: When cancerous cells begin growing rapidly in the body • 17% of teens get cancer • Only 29% survival rate of teens with cancer • Most common types of lymphoma and brain cancer • Melanoma (Skin Cancer)
