Current ML Asian Life Safety and Egress Design • Crossover Passageways Between the Accelerator and Service Tunnels are Provided Every 500 m • Each Passageway has a Self Closing Fire Door Which Protects the Passageway in the Event of Fire • The Accelerator and Service Tunnels are Independently Ventilated which Switches to a Smoke Exhaust Function in the Event of Fire • While there is No Sprinkler System, the ML Tunnels are Equipped with the Following Standard Emergency Equipment: • Smoke Detection and Fire Detection Systems • Fire Alarm System • Emergency Lighting System • Emergency Illuminated Exit Signs • Emergency Exit Guide Lights • Fire Extinguishers LCWS15 - Whistler, BC, Canada

Current ML Asian Life Safety and Egress Design • The Shield Wall does Need to Be Thick Enough to Provide an Adequate Fire Rating • The Table Below Indicates this Should not be a Problem in General • However, the Passageway Design Should be Reviewed in Light of Any Decision Made Here Today LCWS15 - Whistler, BC, Canada

Conclusions • From the Conventional Facilities Perspective, Reducing the Width of the Shield Wall will have No Effect on the Current Asian Life Safety and Egress Systems and Design • The Passageway Design will Need to be Reviewed and Adjusted as Necessary to Provide the Necessary Wall Thickness for Fire Rating, However I Suspect that the Shielding Requirements will be More Stringent • This May Result in the Need to Widen the Shield Wall and Consequently the Service Tunnel To Maintain a Uniform Service Tunnel Width • This Issue will Require Further CFS Review and Study Once a Final Shield Wall Thickness is Determined LCWS15 - Whistler, BC, Canada
