  11. Controllers (OCS) 2011/2012 ZX22 QX751 ZX15 QX651 ZX7 QX551 XL10 QX451 XL6 QX351 CORE 3L XLt CORE 5 XLe CORE 4 CORE 2H • XLt will get a next generation core, offering a performance boost • XLt will get optional built-in Ethernet capability.

  15. I/O Direction • History • SmartStack. The Original “on the back” I/O Platform for OCS. Still has great utility for Modular “Built-in” I/O • FOX. Not really an I/O style on its own, but an expansion method for SmartStack. • SmartStix. Block-style I/O based on CsCAN. Currently our most popular I/O style along with Built-in I/O • Built-in. Developed with the XLe Release in 2006. • SmartBlock. Released starting in 2010 for Specialty & Analog modules to complement SmartStix • SmartRail. Released in 2010 as a cost-effective, highly scalable I/O platform for applications from medium to large

  16. I/O Direction • SmartStack • Will remain a fully-supported, promoted as a modular “built-in” I/O platform • Will be supported in plastic and metal • Metal continues to be viable with the Ruggedized RX371 – with more metal constructed controllers likely • I/O Models pared down in ‘10 from 70+ to around 30. Long-term plan is around 16-20 most popular models • FOX (Fiber Optic Expansion) • Is being de-emphasized • Issues with Plastic Fiber parts have made it a challenge to keep viable • Future emphasis on glass fiber possible, but still under evaluation

  17. I/O Direction • SmartStix • Remains our primary block-style Digital I/O Family now and in the future • Sometime in 2012, Analog models may be replaced by SmartBlock equivalents • SmartBlock • Specialty/Analog Models continue to be filled out throughout 2011 • UL in second half of 2011 • Ethernet will be added in 2011/2012 • Optional Logic capability will be available in 2011/2012

  18. I/O Direction • SmartRail • Strongly emphasized for new applications with modular, scalable I/O requirements • Ethernet & CsCAN now available, providing compatibility with entire product line • Additional I/O Cards should be added in 2011/2012 • High-speed counter, PWM • Thermister • AC In

  19. I/O Direction • Built-in I/O • CORE4 products in 2011/2012 (XL6, XL10, new XL7) will get 30-35 points of additional built-in digital & analog I/O • Additional I/O circuitry will be onboard, but I/O termination will be on DIN-rail, keeping panel door cleaner • COM option I/O • Today, this expansion is strictly for communications (Ethernet, cell, modems) • In March/April 2011 – 2/4 channel Analog Output option will be released • High-speed in/out module for 2011/2012 • Improved Mechanical package will make installation easier, remove connector conflicts with Model 4 & Model 5 I/O
