  3. Audition Process… • TuesdayMay 8th3:30-7:00 • 3:30-3:45 Greeting & Paperwork turn-in • 3:45-5:00 Warm-up and Across-the-Floor combinations. Boy team will start learning their routine. • Jazz walks • Chaines • Piques • Leaps • Pirouettes • Battments • 5:00-6:00 Hip-Hop Routine / Boys excused at 6pm • 6:00-7:00 ContemporaryJazzRoutine

  4. Audition Process continued… • Wednesday May 9th 3:30-6:00 • 3:30-3:45 Greeting & Paperwork turn-in • 3:45-4:30 Warm-up and Across-the-Floor combinations. • 4:30-5:15 Review of Hip-Hop routine • 5:15-6pm Review of Contemporary Jazz routine

  5. Tryout Day… • ThursdayMay 10th3:30-7:00pm • 3:30-4:00 Warm-up & Number distribution • 4:00-7:00 Small Groups will present across-the-floor and both combinations to the panel of judges. • Dancers are dismissed once their group has evaluated .

  6. Summer Commitment • Weekly practices at NPHS • VAR: 5:00-9:00pm Monday & Wednesdaynights • VAR/All MALE: 7:30-9pm Wednesday nights Hip-Hop • Starting June 25th-August 15th

  7. Summer Commitment continued… SUMMER CAMPS • WCE: Aug5th-7th (aprox$175 + hotel) • USA: VAR July 19st-22th ($TBA) • USA Officers: VAR & AllMale July 23rd-25th (aprox$140) • NPHS KIDS DANCE CLINIC: VAR& AllMALE July 30th – Aug 3rd(We hold the Clinic)

  9. 2012-2013 School Year Predicted Practice Schedule ALL MALE DANCE TEAM • Monday 7:30-9pm @ GAR with Coach • Wednesday 7:30-9pm @ GAR with Coach • Friday 2:20-4pm @ GAR with Cameo

  10. Requirements • 2.0 GPA or above • Good Attendance • Audition in front of a panel of judges • Physical Packet on file before June 20th

  11. Year Calendar • The NPHS dance calendar will be available toward the beginning of the school season. • We perform at… • Home football and two away games • Rally’s • Home basketball games • 6 competitions • 2 NPHS dance concerts • Occasional guest appearances at other school functions.

  12. What about the Money? • Dance Team is a self funded program. • Money raised or contributed allows the students to have the best… • Coaching staff • Choreographers • Costumes Allows opportunities for… • Competitions • Travel • Hotel stays

  13. Annual Financial Commitment • Pledges or donations are requested from every member of the dance department at the beginning of the year regardless of how many or what groups you participate in. • Our annual budget for two teams is approximately $80,000.00 • Each members fair share will total approximately $2,500.00 for the year.
