  1. Welcome to Web Design 2 with Mrs. Tarr

Course Overview • This course will provide you with a more in-depth look at web design including • Creating web pages with HTML code • Creating web page content using the Macromedia CS4 Suite • Dreamweaver • Fireworks • Flash • Allow you to create, edit, and design personal and professional web pages with real world applications.

  3. What do I have to do to pass this class? -Attendance, Good Behavior, & Participation are expected - Lesson assignments (yellow side bars) • Skills Reviews, Project Builders, & Design Projects (at end of each chapter) • Online Quizzes • Article reviews - Website evaluations - Projects - Final Exam (TBA) - Homework – Just kidding – unless you get behind!

  4. A Paperless Course? • In an attempt to move to a more paperless environment, students should send all completed assignments to Mrs. Tarr by email nichole.tarr@k12.sd.us Photograph entitiled “Hobo in a paperless world” from urbandictionary.com

  5. Online Assessments • Quizzes and tests will be made available to students online using software called Exam View. • Since these assessments will be open book, open computer format each quiz or test can only be taken once. • At the end of the quiz or test, you will click the “submit” button. At that time, your score will be given and an email with that score will be automatically sent to Mrs. Tarr for recording on the DDN campus system.

  6. Grading Scale • A 90-100 • B 89-80 • C 79-70 • D 69-60

  7. Required Materials • Books will be provided in class • Electronic folder to keep work organized • Active email account • Writing utensil maybe? • YOUR BRAIN!

  8. Rules (Grrrr!) • NO FOOD OR DRINK! (bottled water only if kept on the floor) Water and electricity don’t mix! • NO COMPUTER GAMES! (unless all your work is done first!) • Computer User Policy will be followed and reviewed. (no .exe files or games on flash drives) • Keep your work area clean! • Sharing files is cheating! Don’t try it!
