Quick Review Visit -October 25-26 • ABET is the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. • The website: www.abet.org • The new format is: state what you do, and then make sure you are doing it. • Our mission statement: • Mission is to graduate students in ECE that: • possess problem solving and critical judgment skills needed to be competent citizens in an ever increasingly technological society. • able to undertake entry-level electrical engineering projects • are capable of growing in competence and responsibility • are prepared to undertake graduate study

  3. Update/Details • ‘Self-Study’ report is posted on website. • Productive Monthly Meetings addressing hot issues for ECE • ‘Loop Closing procedure’: • Identify and assess stakeholders • Faculty analyze data with Excel or other tool • Faculty propose and evaluate action plan

  4. 5 Identified LTU/ECE Stakeholders • Students • Faculty • Industrial Advisory board • Alumni • Employers • All stakeholders have had at least one assessment cycle, and the students have had 6 cycles

  5. Big Issue • We added three credits of ‘Entrepreneurial’ content to both programs: EE/CompE • The courses: 1 credit Project Management, 1 credit Business Plans, 1 elective credit • We would like to add an ‘Entrepreneurial’ outcome to both programs • STRAW OUTCOME:
