  1. This is (supposedly) the busiest month - you’re responsible for keeping your buddy on task, so PAY ATTENTION, POR FAVOR, SIL VOUS PLAIT! Mentor Training #5February 27th, 2014Science Fair in 2 MONTHS

  2. Your Responsibilities Be helpful: Don’t say “do it”. Explain how! Parent complaints: deal with it! We all know parents can be difficult. Maybe they don’t understand. It’s up to you to enlighten them! We’re your experienced friends. Need help? Ask!

  3. Computer lab work • REGISTER FOR THE SCIENCE FAIR • We cannot stress the importance of this enough. Just do it. #Nike • Finish typing up the “Conclusion” section Next Meeting: Monday, March 3

  4. Discuss with your buddy the results and possible presentation methods (mean, median, mode, etc) Things You Should Be Working On: Data Analysis

  5. Graphs should have annotations explaining them Example: “This graph indicates that the possibility of receiving extra credit in your science class is indirectly related to the frequency of not paying attention during Mentor Training sessions Things You Should Be Working On: Graphs

  6. Suggested Layout: • Summarize results (include background info) • Answer: Do the results support or contradict hypothesis? • Discuss relationship between variables • Summarize and evaluate the procedure: How could you improve? How could you expand? Things You Should Be Working On: Conclusion

  7. Mrs. Bandrowski is still working on the more recent ones. An updated list will be sent out this weekend! Project Approvals

  8. Need help with your buddy? The parents? The project? Have specific questions for Mrs. B or any of us? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??ASK Questions

  9. Finish experimentation this month! • Do the data analysis right away! Explain how it’s done and why you’re doing it! • Finish writing and experimentation. We’re moving on to Project Boards next time! • Let us know if your buddy will be absent Reminders!
