Importance of idents • Idents are used to either update you or inform you about what is going to happen next. • Idents can also show what the channel is like, e.g. film four’s idents are filmed in very high quality and slow motion, they have many different ones which they play to suit the film that is being shown

  3. Motion graphics • On channels like FX there idents are focused around the motion graphics

  4. compositing • When they are making the idents for FX they have to layer it, they start by just filming the swimming pool, then layer in the colours, the moving images and the logo. • They have to work on the moving images so it looks apart of the swimming pool.

  5. The design • Each of the channels have a personality and the idents keep to this by incorporating colour schemes and typography. The colours are dark,
