  2. Mr. Yoginder Kataria BBA – HOD Message

  3. Welcome to the October issue of your e-mag which brings all good news to you every month. We are a renowned Management college at the center of a great academic university, and we aim to teach our students the skills and virtues of a scholar. This is true that it highlights what the College draws from the University, but it is equally true that University draws much from the College as well. The student performances add laurels to the university name and its status rises high. Since your semester exams are now close on hand, it is time to wake up and catch the time by the forelock because time is bald at the back of it.

  4. Far from being just an academic unit among many, the College has long drawn together other parts of the University in broad critical thinking about aims and methods of education and in the interdisciplinary scholarly culture that is one of this institution's great distinctions. Talk to any faculty member who teaches in the College and they will tell you that their time in the undergraduate classroom and working with colleagues from different disciplines broadens their research horizons and makes them better scholars.

  5. Of late we have been working upon many events to involve you to up grade your aptitude and speaking skills, which is a part of the personality development. This is the methodology of ‘Reinvention of Liberal Learning’, which is practiced in the business schools of America. These are the methods to enhance the power of your mind and prepare you to meet the challenges of the new world. These curricular debates in the College have always been vital to achieving the community of spirit and a commitment to excellent advanced scholarship leading to continues to nourishment, a system of undergraduate education that stands the tests of time.

  6. PIET, as you know, is certainly a centripetal force within the vicinity and more recently it has also acted centrifugally, dispatching its students to sites around the area to learn, work, and make a difference through project studies with big players. These internships opportunities have brought dividends in the form of placements of 16 BBA students with packages as high as 5 lakhs which has made BBA a proud department with it’s growing presence beyond the quads, outside the city, in other words internationally. I feel good while I re- tell this well known story to all of you. • I hope you enjoy every stop and every spot in this College today, which is your choice and of course the best choice, ‘YES PIET’.

  7. And before I cap my pen, I must wish you all good luck in the semester exams which are close on hand. Since we are heading to the close of session, I advise you to make optimum use of time and write your name in the university merit list to glorify your name, your college name and the university name as mentioned by me in the starting of my message. •  With Best wishes • Yoginder Kataria.

  8. Editorial Team’s View The very pious purpose of this e-magazine is a commitment to readers to provide them a mix of numerous events in the form of seminars, guest lectures, departmental events and other cultural happenings. This news letter is the mirror of opinion representation on diverse topics by different category people. However, the very purpose if this effort would be diluted if the ideas expressed here are not understood and adopted. I personally feel it is an inspiring departmental venture which makes students feel important. It was really heartening to see so many of you displaying their skills on the PIET stage during BBA Star contest 2K16. As the festival season is on, let us not forget equally important are the forthcoming sessional exams which must be taken up religiously by all. It is high time to do away with habits of avoiding challenges and closing our eyes to the importance of academics. Let us all look forward to a successful ending of the present semester.

  17. It was a Guest Lecture for BBA students on the subject of ‘Export Procedure and Documentation”by Mr. Prashant Ranolia. He enlightened the Exporters and importers need to comply with the business and regulatory requirements of a number of agencies in India as well as in the importing countries. Most important agencies are Customs, Shipping companies and Banks. Each of these agencies prescribe standard procedures/ documentation for exports and imports. • `It is a concept about national economic growth plan to work in the direction of an overall growth by including every section of society irrespective of class, creed, religion or sex. • Thanking Mr. Prashant Ranolia, Prof. Yoginder Kataria, HoD BBA Deptt said, “We are thankful to you for sparing a day out for us which, I think, must have gone a long way in opening new peeping windows for the faculty/student population of PIET on the intricacies of export import documentation which make the basis of Foreign trade of a country.”

  20. SWAT Team checking for crackers

  21. Keep Walking Five men got lost in a vast forest. They tried to find their way out. The first man said, “I will follow my intuition and go left.” The second man said, “I will go right. I have a strong feeling about this.” The third man said, “I think I will walk back the same path we came. This should be the safest option.” The fourth man said: “I think we are on the right track already, so I will keep going straight. I am sure this forest will end and I will find a village or a farm to ask for directions.”

  22. The fifth man said, “I don’t know what to do. I think I will climb up this tall tree and take a better look around before I make up my mind.” So the fifth man did that. While he was climbing, the other four men scattered towards their own directions. The fifth man now could see from above what was the shortest way to a village. He thought that the others should not have chosen the paths they did. He was wrong, though.

  23. Each man chose his own path and gained a different experience. The man who went left, found a long path but in the end, it led him to the town. The man who went right, had to fight a pack of wolves, but this way he learned how to survive in the forest. The man who went back, met another team of hikers and he made new friends. The man who went straight, found indeed a farm and was hosted by the family for a couple of days before leaving for the village.Everyone was enriched in their own unique way by the journey.

  24. Some reflections on this story... What if, there are no "right" or "wrong" decisions? Could it be that every decision offers us new experiences, which in turn offers us innumerable further opportunities for growth? It has taken every decision of our life to bring us to where we are right now. In the fullness of the present, are we really in the wrong place? Even if it feels so, can we be sure?

  25. What if there are no mistakes? Only opportunities? I learned that best way to Deal with life is to KEEP WALKING! With best wishes Yoginder Kataria

  26. Dr Saurabh Garg Indian 500 and 1000 rupee currency demonetisation

  27. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement to demonetise Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 notes currently in use has caused a panic among the public.

  28. Reason • The incidence of fake Indian currency notes of higher denomination has increased. For ordinary persons, the fake notes look similar to genuine notes, even though no security feature has been copied. The fake notes are used for anti-national and illegal activities. High denomination notes have been misused by terrorists and for hoarding black money. India remains a cash-based economy hence the circulation of fake Indian currency notes continues to be a menace. In order to contain the rising incidence of fake notes and black money, the scheme has been introduced.

  29. Since it is a massive exercise there is going to lot of confusion till the new currencies come into circulation totally and banks and ATMs are fully prepared for this. You need to cope with limited availability of notes and use the cash smartly. Also there is no clarity whether you can use multiple banks to exchange notes, since the limit is Rs.4,000 per person. Also IT Department would be keep a close watch on the deposits, so have clear proof of the source of money you are depositing.

  30. Just few days back PM had said "IMAGINE A SURGICAL STRIKE against Black MONEY ???? " :) :) Now this is a NUCLEAR BOMB against Black Money ... - TOP SECRECY- Announced just FEW HOURS BEFORE - Made it FOOL PROOF yet giving LAST CHANCE to the CorruptThis move is to Curb Black money, Terrorism funding and Fake currencies.. Lets support this move in National Interests ... worthless KACHRAWal''s_etc would still blame Modi and find faults ... but do trust the central govt Containers worth of Rs 500 n Rs 1000 counterfeit notes seized from Keral coast .. (To give you an idea ...think How much Rs 1000 currency can be stacked in a suitcase , Now imagine a room full of such currencies ... and then you will get an idea of one container full of money)

  31. ‘If You Think Er Vikas Deswal Assistant Professor

  32. If you think you are beaten, you are! If you think you dare not, you don’t! If you like to win, but think you can’t, It’s almost a cinch you won’t! If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost! For, out in the world we find.

  33. Sucess begins with a fellow’s will; It’s all in the state of mind! If you think you are outclassed, you are, You’ve got to think high to rise, You’ve got to be sure of yourself Before you can ever win a prize!

  34. Life’s a battle doesn’t always go To the stronger and faster man, But sooner or later the man who wins.. IS THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN!
