School Uniform Policy & Attendance Policy • BGEC Mandatory School Uniform • Tops • GOLD or BLUE polos or t-shirts with school logo ONLY • Bottoms • Pants, bermuda shorts or skorts must be navy blue or khaki • Shorts & skorts must be at least the length of your fingertip • Shoes • NO open-toed shoes • Attendance • Absences • After 3 absences, a SCAM goes to the counselor • After 6 absences, a SCAM goes to the administrator • Tardies • After 4 tardies in a grading period, a letter goes home to parents • After 5 tardies, a SCAM goes to counselor • Early Dismissal • Please do not take your child out of school within the last 30 minutes of school. ONLY in Emergency situations.

Morning Drop Off & Afternoon Dismissal • Afternoon Pick Up • Students are dismissed at 2:50PM • BUS • Students should know the name of the private bus or the number of the Public bus they home on. • AFTERCARE • Students in After Care should go straight to the cafetria after school to meet their After Care leader. • PARENT PICKUP • Students must go to the designated area for THIRD GRADERS. • Parents please put the tags with your child’s name on your windshield for faster drop off • DO NOT PARK car along the Dismissal Sidewalk • THIRD GRADERS with a younger sibling at BGEC go to their younger siblings drop off area • THIRD GRADERS with older siblngs must wait for the older sibling at THIRD Grade Drop Off Area. • Morning Drop Off • Students may be dropped off between 7:30 AM -8:35 AM • Breakfast • Students eat a FREE breakfast in the morning in the cafetria before reporting to the hard-court • After breakfast, students wait for their teachers on the hard-court • Alonso- Line #1 • Parrado – Line #7 • If it rains, students will wait for their teachers in the cafeteria • Students MAY NOT roam the hall or wait in front of their classroom door for their teacher.

BEHAVIOR ZONE DAILY Behavior Grade Behavior grade in Student Agenda (must be initialed nightly) Your child begins with an A daily; as rules are broken the card will be changed. *For more information refer to the discipline policy that should be in the yellow folder clips. Ms. Parrado Classroom Discipline Plan BEHAVIOR CHART WEEKLY Behavior Grade Behavior Chart sent home every Monday stapled to the week’s Home Learning Parent must review, sign & return Behavior chart to school the next day. HOME LEARNING PROCEDURES & EXPECTATIONS Mrs. Alonso (Math, Science, Social Studies) Ms. Parrado (Reading/Language Arts) Home Learning Folder goes home and returns DAILY Home Learning packet sent home on Monday Home Learning checked DAILY, but collected on FRIDAYS Clear old papers out of folder DAILY READING PLUS 30 mins / 3 times a week GRADED Weekly • Agendas go home, are initialed & returned DAILY • Home Learning is written in agenda DAILY • Home Learning is checked DAILY • Math GO! Workbook stays in book bag • Home Learning completed in Math workbooks is not to be torn out, unless instructed to do so • IXL • 30 mins / 3 times a week

SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST The following supplies must be in your child’s pencil pouch DAILY Small headphones (small earbuds) Eraser Sharpener with lid Sharpened #2 Pencils Blunt end scissors Box of 16 crayons 2 Red Pens 2 Glue Sticks 2 Yellow Highlighters Keep these supplies in your child’s book bag for occasional use in class and for projects Pack of Markers Pack of Colored Pencils 12 inch Ruler These supplies have been collected and will be kept in your child’s desk Pack of Wide Ruled Paper 5 Composition Notebooks Blue , Red , Yellow, Green, Orange, and Purple Plastic Folders with Prongs *Please have their yellow folder organized with the correct papers in the clips for the year. Your child and you can use them as reference as the year progresses. PLEASE BRING IN TREASURE BOX TREATS!!!

ONLINE GRADE BOOK Grades can be viewed by logging onto the student portal or using the Student Portal To access grades via the Parent Portal: Must present your License at the front office and be given intsructions To access grades via the Student Portal -Log onto www.dadeschools.net -Click on STUDENT link -Username: Your child’s Lunch/ID# Password: birth month, birth year, PW EXAMPLE UN:2568912 PW: 052004pw (May 2004 birthdate)
