Searching the Library Collection • 2 ways • Library Search • More robust functionality • Traditional library catalog interface • 90% of the collection includes Fountas & Pinnell reading levels • Destiny Quest – prominently displays: • Resources lists • Most popular books • New materials • Slicker

  4. 2a. Holds – Library Search • Log into Destiny • Search for the item(s) • Click on Title • Click on • Click on • The materials requested will be pulled and placed in your mailbox the next day!

  5. 2b. Holds – Destiny Quest • Go to Destiny • Select Destiny Quest from the toolbar on the left • Log into Destiny Quest • Scroll over the item • Click on “Hold It!”

  6. 3a. Resource Lists – Library Search • Login to Destiny • Click on Resource Lists • Click on Add List • Type in List Name • Click on Public • Click on Save • Search for the item(s)in the catalog • Click on

  7. 4. WebPath Express • Why? It is a safe alternative to Google! • Each site has been reviewed • Each site is assigned a ‘reading’ level • Has a descriptive paragraph • Can narrow search by domain • How? • Click on WebPath Express in Destiny • Type in keywords • To narrow search by domain select the domain preference

More functionality…. • Library Search has: • Allows you to search by call number • Destiny Quest allows you to customize: • Create your own list of books to read and tracks them • Select a background Both allow you to do a Power or Advanced Search Both allow you to do a ‘visual search’ – great for ESL Both allow you to rate or submit a review of a book* *All reviews must be approved by me prior to public viewing, Please collaborate with me if you would like to use this functionality .
