  5. The UN stands for the United Nations. It is an international group made up of countries that want to increase peace. What is the UN? The UN headquarter (New York) The UN logo

  6. When was the United Nations set up? In 1945, representatives of 50 countries met in San Francisco to draw up the United Nations Charter. The Organization officially came into existence on 24 October 1945, when the Charter had been approved by China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and a majority of other signatories. United Nations Day is celebrated on 24 October.

The Presidency of the Security Council is held in turn by the members of the Security Council in the English alphabetical order of their names. Each President holds office for one calendar month. Under the Charter, all Members of the United Nations agree to accept and carry out the decisions of the Security Council.
