  2. Child Health Research Core (CHRC): Who We Are A campus-wide,diverse group of leaders & staff working together within the ICTS to provide U of IA colleges & programs with infrastructure needed to support T1 to T4 child health-related research.

  3. Our “Life Course Perspective” Recognition that an individual’s health trajectory in life is determined by early life events & by the interplay between risks & protective factors. What populations are included in your research?

  4. Core Goals of CHRC To improve child health & wellness by: • Facilitating & encouraging evidence-based research; • Integrating within existing U of IA& community child health care systems; • Translating & disseminating cost effective therapies to our community, state & nation.

  6. A Prior ICTS Child Health Success The INSPIRE Project (InternationalStudy Group of Pediatric Pancreatitis: In search for a cure). The first patient registry for childhood pancreatic disease AliyeUc • Successful NIH R21 funding for multicenter registry (RedCap) • Collaborating centers in Australia, Canada, and Israel • Created WIKI resource for PI’s & coordinators • Year 1: • Enrolled 229 children with acute recurrent & chronic pancreatitis at all 14 sites • Began DNA & serum biobankfrom patients & relatives • 3 manuscripts accepted or submitted • Began monthly INSPPIRE newsletter
