  1. What is plastic testing equipment’s? There is a variety of plastic testing equipment available for manufacturers to use, depending on the sample and ASTM and IS standards. For example, to check the quality of plastic granules, a melt flow index tester is used to check the flow rate and chemical and structural properties. Therefore, there are many other instruments that can be used such as Tensile Tester, Izod Charpy Impact Tester, Thermal Deformation Tester, and Environmental Crack Resistance Tester. What is the price of plastic inspection equipment in India? Plastic testers have a wide price range. It depends on the quality, the use of raw materials, and the size of the instrument. Product prices vary. The equipment starting range is INR 2000 for basic equipment and the maximum range is INR 200000 for high-end equipment with the latest features and technology. There are some cheap generic products on the market, but they come with no warranty. Manufacturers should therefore ensure that they purchase test equipment only from authorized manufacturers. From where should you buy original plastic testing equipment? To buy real plastic testing equipment, you need to identify the real manufacturer. The lab testing equipments must be manufactured by a reliable company that has been doing good business and has a reputation to provide genuine products. You must see that the business is registered. Why do we need plastic testing? Chemical testing of polymers and plastics is necessary to ensure that the materials are suitable for their intended use. Polymer chemistry testing is used to identify fundamental structural information such as molecular weight, molecular weight distribution, and branching information. What is the test in plastics testing? Testing the mechanical properties of a plastic determines whether it meets the needs of your application. The behavior of plastics under stress depends on the duration of the stress and the temperature at which the stress occurs. What is Standard Plastic Check? BS 2782 Test Method for Plastics: This is a multi-component standard consisting of Over 200 individual test methods covering thermal, electrical, mechanical, chemical, optical, rheological, and other properties of polymers.

  2. What tests are used to determine the quality and grade of plastics? A melt flow index tester is a machine used to check the melt flow rate of plastic granules. This is a very important test for understanding polymer behavior in the extrusion process. In this process, the granules are put into hot barrels and melted. Plastics can be tested on almost everything from durability to flow-ability. The plastic testing equipments are often on high demand. The most common test methods are: Shore/IRHD hardness test, tensile test, impact test, melt flow index test. Material hardness is one of the most common properties when testing plastics and rubbers. Penetration resistance testing follows the Shore/IRHD principle and uses a duro-meter in the test procedure. This test determines the indentation depth of any material according to ASTM D2240 and ISO 868. The plastics and rubber industry has different scales for testing different materials. These methods can be distinguished primarily by the dimensions of the indenter and the total test force involved. Tensile testing is a popular method of testing for plastics. Tests performed on a universal testing machine measure both the force required to break a plastic sample and the elongation of the sample prior to breaking. Standard dumbbell specimens are tested under controlled environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, pre-treatment, and tester speed. Tensile strength, or tensile strength at break, is measured in force per unit area of MPa or psi. Melt index testing is another popular plastic property testing method. This test measures the flowability of certain thermoplastic polymers in defined dimensions. Test conditions (temperature) vary from 125°C to 315°C. Measurements are calculated in grams per minute (g/min) and cubic centimeters per minute (cc/min). The melt flow rate is inversely proportional to the viscosity of the test conditions. Melt Flow Index (MFI) is a measure of the mass of a polymer that flows through a capillary over a specified time at a specified temperature and pressure. Melt Flow Index is commonly used to measure the melt flow rate (MFR) of a polymer. Therefore, the melt flow index (MFI) is a standardized measure of the mass of polymer flowing through a capillary over a specified period of time. Melt Flow Index is a measure of the molten polymer flow rate and is commonly used to assess the quality of a polymer batch. Source: https://healthprons.com/what-are-plastic-testing-equipments/
