  3. Q What is seed dispersal?A: The scattering of seeds from a plant over a wide area is called seed dispersal.

  4. Q How do seeds disperse?A: Seeds can disperse through wind, water, animals or split forcefully.

  5. Q Why do seeds need to disperse?A: The seeds need to disperse to prevent overcrowding.

  6. Q Why do seeds need to prevent overcrowding?A: To get enough water, sunlight, air and space to grow, plants need to prevent overcrowding.

  7. Q How does wind help to disperse seeds?A: Lalang and angsana are light and dry. Some of them have wing like structures. They are easily carried by wind.

  8. Q How does water help to disperse seeds?A: Coconut, lotus and pong pong usually float and carried by water. They have waterproof covering to help them to float in water.

  9. Q How do animals help to disperse seeds?A: a) Some animals swallow seeds like papaya and mango when they eat fruit and pass them out in waste.b) Some seeds and fruits have hook like structures that get stuck to animals’ bodies or our clothing’s.
