Seminar Content England's Northwest is fully committed to playing a full part in the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, creating lasting positive sporting, social and economic benefits in the region.The seminar will be your chance to hear about the wider business opportunities associated with London 2012, major UK and International events, including activity with UK Trade and Investment and the British Business Club. In addition, with less than 1 year to go to the start of the Games it is an important opportunity to start to plan your 2012 with some practical issues to be taken into account prior to and during Games Time. Are you a business and seeking to win contracts associated with London 2012? ……… or are you wanting to know how the Games Time could affect the operation of your business? Katherine O’Connor MA MCIM MTMI Chartered Marketer NW Business Lead for the 2012 Games Tel: 01925 400478 Katherine.oconnor@nwda.co.uk Katherine was appointed to the role of NW Business Lead for the 2012 Games in April of this year. She provides regional co-ordination on behalf of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, in relation to the London 2012 Business Network. This role involves working with businesses, business organisations, local authorities, media and other stakeholders in order to maximise the economic legacy from the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Her previous positions have included Visitor Economy Partnership Manager at the Northwest Regional Development Agency, Tourism and Advertising Manager at Blackpool Council and working in the private sector for over twenty years in the UK’s leading blue chip leisure company, First Leisure Corporation plc. Katherine studied part time while working as a mature student gaining an MA in Marketing Management and in 2008, Post Graduate Diploma in Public Sector Management. Katherine is a Chartered Marketer and member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Tourism Management Institute. In her spare-time, she works as the Volunteer County Co-ordinator for Help for Heroes in Lancashire.
