  2. Commissioning (buying) the Review The group has made a document that is clear and covers all areas the review needs. (specification) This has gone out to a number of independent organisations and people who we know could the review well. We will get quotes back from some. They will say how they will do the review and how much it will cost. We will select the person or organisation in early December.

  3. Learning Disability Development Fund (LDDF) 2009 - 2010 LDDF money already spent or committed

  4. Learning Disability Development Fund (LDDF) 2009 - 2010 OUT IN It was agreed that Dee would share the detailed picture of LDDF with Lawrence and Diane.

  5. Learning Disability Development Fund (LDDF) 2009 - 2010 The Review Group discussed how to spend the remaining LDDF for this year. The group agreed to suggest to the Partnership Board that £100,000 is invested in Personalisation (Partnership Boards top priority) (A small group will decide how this is spent so that it supports work already happening in this area) £60,000 is made available to DPG’s (£5,000 each) for additional support or to go towards all DPG’s having a base ( DPG’s will need to show what this will be spent on and that they do not have the funds to provide this currently) £44,000 is used next year so that LDDF remains £1,244,000. (This can only be agreed by Elected Members of Kent County Council) Dee also agreed that it would be shown that £50,000 of LDDF is spent on Families/Carers this year.

  6. Learning Disability Development Fund (LDDF) Vote Do you support spending the Learning Disability Development Fund on Personalisation and DPG’s?

  7. Learning Disability Development Fund (LDDF) The group again discussed how the money was currently spent. LDDF should be spent to make Valuing People Now happen. Kent has Action Groups for most areas of Valuing People Now The Review Group suggest to the Partnership Board that the Action Groups commission (buy) things with LDDF. The Groups would then show the Partnership Board how LDDF is used to make Valuing People Now happen in Kent. Each Action Group would need to be supported by someone with commissioning experience. The Partnership Board (or an agreed group) would decide how much LDDF money each Valuing People Now area or Action groups would receive to make this happen.

  12. Learning Disability Development Fund (LDDF) Vote Should the Kent Learning Disability Partnership Board decide the amount of money spent on each of the Valuing People Now areas?

  13. DPG’s and Employing People The group discussed that employing people and paying people fairly is still very difficult for DPG’s and Implementation Groups. It was suggested that a workshop be organised to help sort this out. Kathy Melling and other experts have agreed to help. There is already a day arranged on 13th January in Ashford to talk about Employment. We think it would be good to use this day. All DPG’s will be invited to take part.

  14. A Big Thank You The review group would like to thanks Linda for her help and support over the past few months
