  2. Varón de 45 años con antecedentes de miocardiopatía dilatada con disfunción sistólica moderada-severa, con posible componente de taquimiocardiopatía por fibrilación auricular persistente. • Se realiza ecocardiograma transesofágico previo a cardioversión eléctrica en el que se observa…

  3. Válvula aórtica cuadricúspide, fibrosada, con velo a nivel del seno derecho anterior. No limitada en su apertura, insuficiencia central de grado ligero

Válvula aórtica cuadricúspide • Anomalía congénita rara, incidencia 0.008-0.033%. • Generalmente aislada, también asociación a otras malformaciones congénitas: ductus arterioso persistente, anomalías en el nacimiento de las coronarias, comunicación interventricular, estenosis pulmonar, miocardiopatía hipertrófica, estenosis fibromuscular subaórtica… • La anomalía funcional más frecuente es la insuficiencia. Raramente se observa estenosis. • Clasificación anatómica de Hurwitz y Roberts con 7 subtipos (A-G), según el tamaño de las cúspides. Los más frecuentes son el tipo B (tres cúspides de igual tamaño y una menor o rudimentaria) y el tipo A, con cuatro cúspides de igual tamaño, como es nuestro caso.
