  2. This is the VLE home page. You can return to this screen by clicking on the ‘Home’ button on the menu bar.

  3. This button links you to the Knowledge Centre on the Member pages of the website

  4. My Profile shows your contact details

  5. This button gives you access to the discussion forums

  6. This entry shows your name and the last time you logged on to the VLE

  7. This entry shows the courses you are enrolled for

  8. All unread posts are displayed here. Once a post has been read, it will be removed from this list

  9. The Learning team will post general announcements to all students. Note that announcements are for all modules and not just the module you are enrolled for. Click to continue…

  10. Clicking on the ‘Forums’ tab on the menu bar will show the forums available to you. The ‘Administration’ forum is used to converse with the Learning team The ‘Student common room’ in an unmoderated room where you can chat with fellow students Click to continue…

  12. You will find your assignments here, including guidance on doing the assignments. The ‘Units’ contain additional study support not included in your study text, including forum activities. These are HTML and PDF versions of the text you received in hard copy. Complete the End of unit quizzes to track your performance on the progress report. Your study plan give all your deadlines, as well as other important dates. Click to continue…

  13. Activities form an integral part of your course and allow you to discuss issues with your tutor and fellow students. To access the activities, open the study unit.

  15. With the content screen open, clicking on the ‘Forums’ tab will allow you to interact with your tutor and fellow students via the discussion Forums. Click to continue…

  16. This will allow you to view the Administration and Student common rooms… your tutor’s forum… and other forums for your module. Remember that you can view the other tutor’s forums, but you cannot post a message. Click to continue…

  17. You can enter your subject at the top of the screen. You can enter your text here. Use the smilies to make your text more fun. You can preview your post before you submit. Click here to add attachments to your message. Use these options to format your text. These are just a few functions you can use when posting a message.
