  1. Below is for the user logon / registration to the UPMC KingMed Web Portal site Click on Register button to create account

  2. Make sure to fill in the fields indicated below (First Name, Last Name, E-mail address, KingMed Facility) Enter your first name Enter your last name Enter your work email address Choose the facility your case referrals are coming from

  3. This screen is to review choosing a username and password to log into your KingMed Web Port profile for submitting cases for consultation Make sure to follow the password guidelines outlined below and use characters from 3 out of the 4 categories Enter a username you wish to utilize Enter your password here Re-enter your password for confirmation Click to complete your account registration

  4. Once your registration is complete you will come to the following page. You can click on the “Click Here” link to access your newly created a account to enter a case for referral.

  5. Enter your Username and Password and click “Login” to access your account Enter your Username Enter your password

  6. After logging in for the first time you will come to your account page. Over time on this page you will see your “Open”, “Completed” or “Returned” cases with the tabs of those names.

  7. Click on Submit New Consult from the left menu bar. Enter KingMed Accession Number Enter KingMed Patient ID Enter Patient’s DOB (yyyy-mm-dd) Select the Patient’s gendor

  8. Click on the “Print Barcode Labels” button to print number of barcodes for the number of slides to be scanned on the case and by type, i.e. H&E, Immuno, Special Stain or Misc/Other. Click to print # of bar codes needed

  9. Screen below will appear to enter the number of labels you wish to print for the associated type of slide. For H&E the following will appear. Click on “Print Labels” when you have finished entering the number of labels to print. Click on the “Close Window” button to return to the Web Portal tool

  10. Screen below will appear to enter the number of labels you wish to print for the associated type of slide. For Stain type not H&E or Other the following will appear. You can also Click on “Add another slide label” if other stain type labels are needed. Click on “Print Labels” when you have finished entering the number of labels to print. Click on the “Close Window” button to return to the Web Portal tool

Start to enter the information on the case and provide as much information as you have to ensure the UPMC Pathologist can provide an accurate opinion as possible Enter Organ affected Enter Clinical History on the patient Enter Pre-op Diagnosis Enter Post-op Diagnosis Enter procedure performed on patient

  12. Enter the gross description information indicated below. Choose the division you wish to assign the case to, choosing First Available. If you wish the case to be assigned to a specific pathologist, then choose them under their division. Enter gross description on specimen Select the appropriate Division / Pathologist for the case to be assigned to

  13. You can either “Submit Request” for a UPMC Pathologists review, or if you do not have sufficient information and wish to submit request after all information has been gathered and entered, click on the “Save Progress” button Click on Submit Request if all information on the case has been entered or on Save Progress if more information needs to be entered but is not present at the current time.

  14. Hitting the “Submit Request” button will take you to the following screen where you can click on the “Click here” link to review your submitted request. Click here if you wish to review your submitted request.

  15. You have the ability to print additional labels if more scanned slides are required for UPMC Pathologists to make an accurate opinion by clicking on the “Print Additional H&E Barcode Labels” or “Print Additional Other Barcode Labels” button. Click here to print more barcode(s) for additional slide(s)

  16. Screen below will appear to enter the number of labels you wish to print for the associated type of slide. For H&E the following will appear. Click on “Print Labels” when you have finished entering the number of labels to print. Click on the “Close Window” button to return to the Web Portal tool

  17. Screen below will appear to enter the number of labels you wish to print for the associated type of slide. For Stain type not H&E or Other the following will appear. You can also Click on “Add another slide label” if other stain type labels are needed. Click on “Print Labels” when you have finished entering the number of labels to print. Click on the “Close Window” button to return to the Web Portal tool.

  18. By clicking on Your Consults link on the side bar, you can review your Open, Completed or Returned requests. Click here to view all of your consults, i.e. Open, Completed, Returned
