CAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE Mandate Advise the Board on the development and execution of a campus sustainability plan to increase levels of sustainable development, reduce waste created by University-College operations, and maximize energy efficiency and effectiveness of University-College facilities. Work with the campus community to encourage and promote sustainable transportation methods for members of the campus community in travelling to and from Malaspina campuses.

CAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE Mandate (cont…) Support initiatives to raise awareness about sustainability issues among the campus community and encourage dialogue and discussion of related matters. Make recommendations on the allocation of funding to initiatives in the campus sustainability plan and recommended priorities for investment of the Environmental Trust on an annual basis.

CAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE Campus Sustainability Based on the current mandate of the CSC, sustainability is interpreted as reducing the ecological footprint and climate-change impact of the University-College and ensuring that each generation of faculty, staff and students does not deplete the social, economic and environmental capital left for the next generation.

  13. CAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE Ecological footprint – Reducing our contribution to climate change Electricity and gas usage data supplied by Facilities Services, personal car data based on information on parking use and assumptions about trip length (avg. 10 km each way) and vehicle types.
