  3. Broadband Healthcare Benefits Research shows that broadband is a boon to education, healthcare, job creation, and overall economic growth, among others. In healthcare, broadband helps both the patient and the provider. Telemedicine, research, information transfer, and mobile health care are just some of the areas that benefit from broadband. Broadband helps healthcare be faster, mobile, and save time, money, and lives.

  4. Broadband Is the Future No longer a luxury, but a necessity. Considered a fourth utility, along with water, heating, and electricity. The government’s Recovery Act lists broadband expansion as one of its directives. It is meant to help usher new jobs and growth opportunities for key institutions like schools, healthcare, police, charities, libraries, and others An investment for the future that improves our standards of living and working, while reducing provider and consumer costs.

  5. What Are We Doing to Help? Improve broadband access & usage for all; specially key institutions. Work with ISPs and key institutions to interconnect locally. This will: Increase capacity Guarantee insular connectivity reduce cost 25% discounts for institutions with peered providers Are you connected? Ask your provider.

  6. For everywhere we look, there is work to be done.  The state of our economy calls for action, bold and swift.  And we will act, not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth.  We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together.  We'll restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost.
