  2. The Battle of Gettysburg • * Why was the battle of Gettysburg important ? • The battle of Gettysburg was considered one of the most influential battles that lead to the result of the Civil War. It was also considered one of the bloodiest battles. This battle was one of the turning points in the Civil War. The North had been defeated by the South, who had victory. After the war, Lincoln gave a two minute speech. Lincoln’s speech was remembered and inspiring to many people. He began his speech like this……… • “ For score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men were equally created ”
